Letter from the Chairman

Dear Business Leader,
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you of the establishment of the “British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland ry / rf”.

We are building a proactive membership base of businesses of all sizes and sectors operating throughout Finland and in the Commonwealth countries that are interested in doing better business.
Lively events for animated business leaders are a key first step in raising awareness of the Commonwealth opportunities for Finnish business, and opportunities in Finland for the Commonwealth.

For its members the BCCCF is a proactive resource based on the three tenets of “voice, information & profit advantage.” We offer our members networking opportunities, information access, community involvement, continuing business and cultural education, policy dialogue, trade missions, referrals and other services.

Therefore, I would like to invite you to join as a member of our new association, and help us to serve you effectively. You can download a membership application form in the membership section of this site.   Furthermore, if you are interested in being recognised as a permanent Founding Member we would be happy to provide more details to you.

Our main launch event took place on Tuesday 30th September 2008 at Hanasaari, Espoo, in the form of a seminar. 50 business leaders and Diplomats attended to hear keynote speakers from the Commonwealth Business Council, Finland's Foreign Ministry, Invest in Finland and Nokia Plc.

Our future events offer an interesting mix of topics and network opportunities.  In November 2009 we are planning our first major foreign mission for member enterprises to the Commonwealth Business Forum in Trinidad and Tobago. 800 global business leaders, and trade ministers from all 53 Commonwealth nations will be in attendance for this unique business exchange event, which occurs every two years prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.

For 2010 we will be planning trade missions for member enterprises to and from Commonwealth countries in collaboration with diplomatic missions and national trade & investment bodies.
